Lewis Courtney Segura, 88, peacefully passed to life’s next realm on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Oakmont Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Katy, Texas. Lewis was born April 16, 1925, to Jacob Smith Segura, Sr., and Eula Taylor Segura and a loving family that included his sisters, Cora Mae Segura Savoy and Martha Elizabeth Segura Voorhies, and brothers, Jacob Smith Segura, Jr., and Jerry Taylor Segura. All of these, as well as his long-time companion, Evelyn Rosenthal of Houston, Texas, preceded him in death. His service was held Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield with the Rev. Michael W. Millard of Christ Memorial Episcopal Church officiating at the service. Interment followed at Highland Cemetery. His family received visitors prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. to the time of service. A memorial service will be held in Houston

Reverend Edmund A. “Larry” Niehoff

Father Edmund A. “Larry” Niehoff, a priest of the Diocese of Shreveport, died in Shreveport on January 27, 2014. Father Niehoff was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 16, 1937, to Edmund Hammill Niehoff and Ann Felice (Malakas) Niehoff. He attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa for two years. In August 1957 he entered the Novitiate of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans) in Winona, Minnesota. In 1958, he began studies in philosophy at the Priory and College of St. Thomas and St. Dominic in River Forest, Illinois, where he received a B.A. in Philosophy. In 1961 he began his theological studies at St. Rose Priory/Aquinas Institute of Theology in Dubuque, Iowa. He was ordained to the Roman Catholic priesthood by Archbishop James J. Byrne of Dubuque on April 18, 1964. This year Father Niehoff would have celebrated his golden jubilee as a priest. Visitation was held on

Marcielle was born in Bastrop, LA, to Milton and Willie Jefcoat Middlebrooks on June 3, 1926, and passed away on January 22, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. She lived in Bastrop and raised three children as a single parent, and worked as a legal secretary. She married James Everett Pruitt in 1975, and moved to Kaufman, TX, where she worked for several attorneys in Kaufman and Dallas until she retired. She moved to Mansfield, LA, in 2007,
after her husband's death. She was a member of Mansfield Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God, and worked for two years as a teacher at Faith Tabernacle Academy. She loved God, her church, and her family, and enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with all of them. She was preceded in death by her husband James Everett Pruitt and son Kenneth Wayne Pruitt.
