Kenneth Cloud

Visitation for Kenneth Cloud, 67, will be held from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home, Coushatta, LA. Mr. Cloud was born January 1, 1947 in Natchitoches, LA and passed away January 4, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Eva Cloud. Mr. Cloud is survived by two sons, Julian Cloud and wife, Stacey of Mansfield, LA and Kenneth Cloud and wife, Lea of North Carolina; one daughter, Sherry Floyd and husband, Robert of DeVille, LA; a special person, Dorothy Cloud; two sisters, Manette Brister of Provencal, LA and Patricia Goddard of Friendsville, TN; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services for Robert Timothy Phillips, 41 of Logansport, LA were held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 28, 2013 in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dean Register officiated. Interment followed in the Bethel Cemetery. Mr. Phillips was born on March 27, 1972 in Shreveport, LA. He entered into eternal rest on December 25, 2013 in Shreveport, LA. He is survived by his mother Linda Fonville of Logansport, LA; children Brittany Phillips, Miranda Phillips Whitton, Austin Phillips, Lakin Phillips; sisters Teena Register and husband Craig of Logansport, LA; Rebecca Fonville of Gary, LA; Thresa Fonville of Logansport, LA; grandson Caleb Walker; and a host of friends. Honoring him as pallbearers were Craig Register, Doug Register, Lloyd “PeeWee” Stephens, Eric Davis, Tyler Fonville, and Vince Ramsey. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Love and Dane Childress.

Sister Willie Bessie Simpson

On this day we celebrated the life of Sister Willie Bessie Simpson (Atkins), born on March 10, 1944 to the daughter of the late Foster Lee Atkins and Ophelia Atkins. At a young age, she Friendship Baptist Church and  has remained true to her faith. Willie attended public schools of DeSoto Parish including Johnson Elementary and DeSoto High School, graduating class of 1963. In December 1969 she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Brother Wade Simpson where they lived in South Mansfield and to this union were five children She was preceded in death by her parents Foster Lee Atkins and Ophelia Atkins; her loving 
husband Wade Simpson; one great grandchild Johnathan Jenkins III; three brothers Cuttee Atkins, Foster Lee Atkins, Jr., David Atkins, Jr. and one sister
Darlene Blake. She leaves to cherish her memories: five children Alvin Atkins (Lamar), Evette White, La Shaun Williams (Michael) all of Oklahoma, Angela Hewitt

Charles Mickey Madden

Charles Mickey Madden, 81, passed away on December 22, 2013 in Shreveport, LA. A memorial service honoring the life of Mickey was held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Antioch Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA. Mickey was born in Danville, AR to Granville and Sarah Taylor Madden. During his life he had the honor to play ball with the New York Yankees for 2 years. He worked at International Paper Company for  41 years as a Maintenance Coordinator. Preceding Mickey in death were his parents; one son; two sisters; and four brothers. Those left behind to cheris his memory are his wife of 45 years June Madden; three daughters; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and one brother.

Services for Matthew Earl Pilley, 40 of Irving, Texas were held at 11 am, Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Chapel, Logansport, LA. Burial followed at 2:30 PM, Saturday at Shiloh Methodist Cemetery in Jefferson Texas. Officiating was be Rev. Lance Cypert, Pastor of First Baptist Church Logansport. Matthew was born on December 13, 1973 in Irving, Texas. He was a graduate of Nimitz High School in Irving, Texas and was a truck driver for Lovan Industries, Inc.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Billy E. Pilley & Annie Owen Pilley, Logansport, La., 2 sisters, Laticia Bomar & husband Dwayn of Center, Texas and Sheri Hutto & husband Kevin also of Center, Texas. Honoring Matthew as pallbearers were Frank Maguna, Jesse Maguna, Tracy Pate, George Owen & David Ross.
