Wolverines Unable to Capitalize on Mistakes

Mansfield went into last Friday’s season finale against Evangel with an opportunity to claim a share of the district 1-3A championship. The only requirement was to beat Evangel on its home field, no easy task for anyone. The Wolverines were able to force 4 Eagle turnovers and Evangel did everything they could to help with 19 penalties but unfortunately Mansfield fell short 30-6 at the end of the game

Tigers Erupt For 50 Points Against Montgomery

The Logansport Tigers celebrated Senior Night 2014 in style with a 50-25 win over the visiting Montgomery Tigers. With the win the Tigers are assured of having a winning season. The win improved the Tigers record to 6 
wins and 4 losses with a 3-2 record for a third place finish in District 3- 1A. It was a record setting night for 2 Tigers seniors.

Wolverines District Title Hopes Still Alive

On Senior night at Washington- Taylor-Rogers Stadium the Mansfield Wolverines were able to keep their district title hopes alive by defeating the winless Bossier Bearkats 28-13. Mansfield Seniors Levonte Hall and LaTiedrick Pugh played major roles in the victory both offensively and defensively

Tigers Earn Second Shutout Of Season 39-0

The Logansport Tigers earned their second shutout of the season with a 39-0 win over the Northwood Lena Gators on Halloween. There were no treats for the Gators as the Tiger defense limited them to 44 yards and 2 first downs. On offense the Tigers rolled up 362 yards. With the win Logansport improved their record to 5-4 overall and 2-2 in district 3-1A. The Tigers close out the regular season when they host the Montgomery Tigers on Thursday
night at 7:00 p.m.

Griffins Rebound after Slow Start

Last Friday in Shreveport the Loyola Flyers tested the North DeSoto Griffins. Loyola was able to play with the Griffins for the majority of the game by taking control of the middle of the line of scrimmage on defense and hitting
some big play offensively, but the Griffins capitalized on their own opportunities and were able to come away with the 20-3 victory last Friday

Logansport Loses Battle Of The Tigers

The Logansport Tigers came into their battle with the Tigers of St Mary’s with a 4-3 record overall and 1-1 in district. Going into the game Logansport was number 10 in the power rankings of Class A schools. Logansport came out on the short end of a 35-12 score as they fell to the visiting Tigers. The week Logansport will travel to take on the Northwood-Lena Gators. Logansport is 11-0 all time against the Gators, outscoring them 361- 60. Game time will be 7:00 so come celebrate Halloween with a Tiger victory.

Wolverines Drop First District Game

Last Friday in Springhill both Mansfield and North Webster were coming off hard fought games the week before. The Wolverines with the exciting comeback win over Green Oaks and North Webster with a tough loss to Evangel. It would be the Knights that would rebound after the loss and produce a dominating 33-0 win over the Wolverines despite 6 turnovers in the game.

Griffins Knock off Tide with Stellar Defense

Both Minden and North DeSoto came into last Friday’s district 1-4A game running on all offensive cylinders. North DeSoto with 90 points the previous two games and Minden scoring 82 in their 3 district games, but it was both teams’ defenses that proved to be the more effective units for both teams. Fortunately for North DeSoto, theirs was a bit better than Minden’s last Friday. The Griffins were able to force 5 turnovers in the game and ride stellar defensive effort to a 23-0 shutout victory over the unbeaten in 1-4A Minden Crimson Tide.

Logansport Falls 38-19 To Block Bears

The Logansport Tigers traveled to Jonesville this past Friday night to take on the Block Bears. Logansport came out on the wrong side of the score, falling to the home standing Bears 38-19. Logan Spears was able to break his school record for pass completions in a game with 30. With the loss the Tigers drop to4-3 on the season and 1-1 in  district 3-1A competition. This week Logansport will host one of the all time greatest rivals in the St. Mary’s Tigers. This week will also be the annual PINK OUT at LHS. Game time is 7:00, wear your favorite pink and come out and support the Tigers as they try to get back on track.

Wolverines Win with Wild Finish

For the third straight week the Mansfield Wolverines found themselves down double digits in the second half of the game, and for the third straight week the Mansfield Wolverines were able to rally and come away with a victory. The most recent rendition of a comeback came last Friday in front of a large homecoming crowd against district opponent Green Oaks.
