Funeral services honoring the life of David Lilley, 86, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Rev. Jimmy Lilley with interment following the service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Converse, La.

A visitation was held in the Chapel from 5:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. on Friday October 16, 2020.

Walter was born on October 11, 1934 in Converse, La to Sidney and Myrtice Dans Lilley, and entered into eternal rest on October 12, 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Preceding David in death are his parents, wife: Ina Lee Lilley, one sister, Pauline, and 10 brothers, William, Oda, Marshall, SL, Douglas, Frank, Maurice, Sampson, Charles and Johnny.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mary Evelyn Angele Poarch were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Rev. Thumper Miller. Interment followed the service at Highland Cemetery. The family received friends at the Rose-Neath Chapel on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mary was born June 25, 1934 to Edwin and Claire Angele and entered into rest on October 11, 2020 at the age of 86 in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Preceding Mary in death are her parents, sister, Shirley Ann Angele, brother Milton Angele and her sister in law Erline Angele.

A private family funeral honoring the life of Edward L. Evans, 85, of Mansfield, LA, was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2020, at Calvary Baptist Church in Mansfield. Burial immediately followed at Sloan Cemetery next to the church.

Public visitation with the family was held on Sunday, October 18, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Roseneath Funeral Home in Mansfield.

LODWRICK MONROE COOK, III

Lodwrick Monroe Cook, III., a successful businessman and philanthropist, passed away Sept. 28 in Sherman Oaks, California at the age of 92.

A Louisiana native, growing up in Grand Cane, Mr. Cook received BS degrees in Mathematics in 1950 and Petroleum Engineering in 1955 at Louisiana State University, the latter after a tour of duty in the US Army as a First Lieutenant stationed in Germany. Later, while working, he finished an MBA program at Southern Methodist University in 1965.

Graveside services were held at The Double Churches and Grove Hill Cemetery, just outside of Mansfield, on October 1, 2020. A slide show of Jimmy’s life began at 9:00 a.m. with services immediately following at 10:00 a.m.

Jimmy was born on November 1, 1956 in Citronelle, Alabama to parents Clyde Willis Sims Sr. and Laura Louise Sims.

Jason was born on July 13, 1978 in Jackson, Mississippi to Jimmy Edward Sant and Rebecca Lou Smith Sant. He entered into eternal rest on September 18, 2020 in Mansfield, Louisiana.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Lou Sant; paternal grandparents, Joseph E. Sant and Lessie Floyd Sant; maternal grandparents, Mary Evelyn Smith “Nanny” and Emmitt Rex Smith; father-in-law, Bruce E. Temple.

VIRGINIA “JEN” FEGLEY DICKERSON

Graveside services for Virginia “Jen” Fegley Dickerson were held Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Park, 3301 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Reverend Marc Roath officiated the service.

Jen was born on November 7, 1947 to Earnest Fegley, Sr. and Frances Brown Fegley in Mansfield, Louisiana and passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Jen was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Shreveport. She was an active member of the “Pastor Class” Sunday school class and loved singing the hymns every Sunday. Jen loved collecting dolls and stuffed animals, reading, doing puzzles and making ceramics. She was known for her huge heart, and always had a hug for every little baby. Jen took care of her mother, Ms. Frances, until they both moved into The Glen. Jen was an avid LSU fan, and she always made time to watch her favorite television show, “Gun Smoke”.
