Agnes “Aunt Aggie” Pilkington Gunter

The family of Agnes “Aunt Aggie” Pilkington Gunter would like to express our sincerest thanks to everyone that had a part in our Mama and Mamaw’s life and passing. We especially would like to convey our gratitude to Rev. Thumper Miller, Virginia Distill, Brenda McCart, Joseph Banes, Rev. Clyde Stephens, First Baptist Church of Mansfield, Bethsadia Baptist Church in Many, Louisiana Home Care, Superior Hospice, Toledo Retirement & Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Benjamin Leggio, and Roseneath Funeral Home-Many Chapel. Special thanks are sent with love to her dedicated care givers, and for those that lifted our Mama and family up in prayer. Your many acts of kindness will never be forgotten.

CLINTON PAUL JENKINS

A private family service honoring the life of Clinton Paul Jenkins will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church in Mansfield. Inurnment will immediately follow at Sloan Cemetery next to the church.

Clinton was born on November 7, 1984, to Ned Walter Jenkins, III and Lisa Evans Jenkins in Hampton, Virginia. He passed away on September 1, 2021, in Many, Louisiana, as the result of an automobile accident. Clint was a graduate of Converse High School and Nashville Auto Diesel College in Nashville, TN. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, and he enjoyed working on anything mechanical.

EDDA RAY RINGER LOWE

Edda Kay Ringer Lowe passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 after an extended hospitalization following a stroke. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Internment will immediately follow the service at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend McKee Williams assisted by Reverend William E. Nolan.

Kay was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 14, 1942, the daughter of Edward and Catherine Ringer. Her family moved to Gonzales, Louisiana, where she grew up. She was a graduate of Gonzales High School, where she was the head majorette for the high school band.

MELISSA KAY RUNNELS

Funeral services for Mrs. Melissa Runnels, 57, of Keachi, LA were at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2021 at the Longstreet United Methodist Church with Rev. Dean Register officiating. Burial followed in the Runnels Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation was held from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service.

Melissa was born February 20, 1964 in Mansfield, Louisiana. She passed away from this life on October 16, 2021 in San Augustine, Texas.

Melissa was one of six children born to the marriage of A.J. and Charlie Fate Briggs Runnels. She was raised and schooled in South Louisiana graduating from Ascension Catholic High School.

Melissa worked in welfare and food stamp offices in DeSoto and Red River parishes. She worked as an account specialist for Fastenall. She loved crafting and spending time with her beloved grandson.

A graveside service honoring the life of Cheryl Mathis Smith, 72, was held Friday, October 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Reverend Joe Waggener.

Cheryl was born to Walter Malcolm Mathis and Anna Mathis Herring on January 8, 1949 in Overton, Texas and went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Funeral services honoring the life of Kerry Eugene Wright, 86, were held on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral home, 943 Polk St. in Mansfield, Louisiana. The Interment followed at Bethlehem Cemetery in Homer, Louisiana at 2:30 p.m. Visitation was held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Officiating the service was Reverend Bill McLain.

Kerry was born to George Elvis Wright and Pauline Haskins Wright on January 7th, 1935 in Minter, Texas and entered into rest the night of October 21st, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

HUEY P. EVANS, SR.

Huey P. Evans, Sr., age 84, passed away in Shreveport surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Visitation and the viewing were held on Friday, October 22, at Jenkins Funeral Home in Mansfield from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. His funeral was held on October 23 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John M. Jones, pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church, officiating. The Burial followed immediately at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Huey was born on January 29, 1937 to parents William J. and Pearl Evans in the Sugar Hill Community, just outside of Mansfield. He spent his entire life not far from where he was born. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Will Evans and Henry James Evans. He and his wife, Betty Jean Patterson Evans, would have celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary on November 24, 2021.

Burial followed at Grove Hill Cemetery, in Mansfield, Louisiana. A visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Officiating the service was Reverend Bob Latham.

Emmett was born on May 11, 1932 to Willie Paxton Renois and Emmett Renois, Sr. in Pelican, Louisiana and was called home to be with the Lord on the evening of Saturday, October 2, 2021 in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Agnes Alene Cooper Pilkington Gunter, 98, of Mansfield, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021, surrounded by family at Toledo Nursing Center in Zwolle, Louisiana.

Agnes was born on September 23, 1923, in Many, Louisiana. She was one of 13 children born to William and Mary Alice Dew Cooper. She graduated from Many High School in 1942 and married her husband of 41 years, Tom E. Pilkington, on Christmas Eve of that same year. They went on to have five children.

Funeral services honoring the life of Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Williams, 75, were held Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Union Springs Baptist Church in Converse, Louisiana. Interment followed at Union Springs Cemetery in Converse, Louisiana. A visitation was held on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Officiating over the service was Brother Weyland Gauntt.

Barbara was born on October 16, 1945 to Fred Hillman Caulfield and Vivian Odella Woodard White in Littlefield, Texas, and entered into eternal rest Friday, October 1, 2021 in Houston, Texas.

Barbara was a resident of Joaquin, Texas and spent her days at home, caring for her loving family. Barbara had a deep love for her children and her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching “wrasslin”, loved antique shopping and collecting various “Knick Knacks”. Wherever she went, laughter, joy and happiness were sure to follow.
