ERIC LEE NABORS

ERIC LEE NABORS
12/10/49 – 1/16/22

Eric Lee Nabors passed peacefully on January 16, 2022, in Canon City, Colorado with family by his side.

Eric was born in Mansfield, Louisiana on December 10, 1949. As a child Eric moved all over the country with his military family, changing schools often. Eric spoke most fondly of his time spent in Louisiana, where the extended family would gather each year. In 1968, Eric graduated High School in Ogden, Utah, soon after he served a stint in the Navy, following in his father’s footsteps.

After leaving the Navy, Eric settled in Seattle, where he worked as a Master Carpenter. Where he met and married the love of his life, Michelle Lowry. Later in life, Eric and his wife Michelle (Mickey) relocated to Colorado to spend the remainder of their lives and retirement together in the mountains.

Eric was not only a master of carpentry but a master in the kitchen - he took care to carry on family recipes for future generations while adding his own little twist to each along the way. After his wife, Mickey, passed Eric took to dog shows, showing and breeding his prized Griffons, Kate and Jacque. Eric is remembered for his big, back-cracking hugs, his bawdy ditties, as well as his funny family stories that he loved to share with his nieces and nephews.

Eric is survived by his daughter, Samantha King; granddaughters, Jessica Soucy and Alexis McGarry; great-granddaughter, Parker Austin; siblings, John Bachman III, Elizabeth, Desire, Anthony, Carrie, Marie, Michael, Kathryn, Stephen, Shawn and Amy; as well as his many nieces and nephews who adored him for his stories, songs and time that he gave to each of them.

Eric is preceded in death by his wife, Michelle (Lowry) Nabors; mother, Elizabeth (Moberg)

Nabors; father, John Bachman Nabors Jr.; and nephews, Thomas Bright and Eric Oluwole Delu.

A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2022, at Wilson Funeral Home in Canon City, CO 81212. A reception followed at The Elks Club in Florence, CO 81226.
