MARK CHAMBERLIN

Mark Chamberlin of Garland, Texas passed away on March 21, 2020 surrounded by his family. Mark was a master glassblower of four decades and was employed with Carter Glass. He was known for his love of road trips, passing time by the fire pit at his Rambin home, and spending time with his family, including his beloved dog Rover. His parents, Aubrey and Lanell Chamberlin of Rambin, Louisiana, precede him in death. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Susan and his two daughters Jan and Hillary Chamberlin. Funeral details are to be announced at a later time.

DEBRA ANN DEERS WATSON

Funeral services honoring the life of Debra Ann Deers Watson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana with Fr. John Paul Crispin officiating. Interment will be held at Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Mansfield. This will be an invitation-only family service not to exceed 10 people due to the restriction of the COVID-19 pandemic. When the situation allows, a celebration of her life will be held for her many friends and family.

Debra was born on June 21, 1957 in Zwolle, Louisiana to Buford and Annie Deers. She entered into rest on April 3, 2020 in Mansfield, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Annie Mae Deers of Mansfield, LA; grandparents, Tula Remedies of Zwolle, LA and Edwina Solice Deers of Many, LA; husband, Jermine Thomas of Mansfield, LA; sister, Janis Kay Deers Ebarb of Mansfield, LA; brother, Terry “Bubba” Deers of Mansfield, LA; niece, Jessica Deers of Mansfield, LA.

Jerry Dean Marr, 70, entered into eternal rest on March 29, 2020 in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Jerry was born on October 5, 1949 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Ernest and Jackie Marr.

Jerry graduated from Pelican High School in 1967. He owned and operated a heavy equipment and auto mechanic business for 30+ years. Jerry was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mansfield, Louisiana. He had a servant’s heart and never passed up an opportunity to teach, lend a helping hand to someone in need, or have you stay for supper. His family and especially his grandchildren brought him tremendous joy. He loved his children and grandchildren equally.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Lester Marr and Jackie Nell Wallace Marr; brother, Kenneth Wayne Marr; son-in-law, Ricky Lewis.

Private funeral services for Christie Watson Jones, 47, will be held on March 28, 2020, at the True Vine family cemetery near Mansfield, Louisiana. The family will host a celebration of her life after the pandemic is over.

Christie was born on March 1, 1973 and passed away on March 25, 2020. She was a native of Shreveport and graduated from Byrd High School. Christie was a nurse who spent many years working at the Shreveport office of Gastrointestinal Specialists. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Mansfield.

Christie is survived by her husband, Huel Jones, and their son Christopher; by her mother and step-father Carolyn and Sonny Green; by her father and step-mother Donnie and Cassandra Watson; sisters Pamela Perkins and her husband Kennith and Jennifer Green; and by her brothers Robert Green and Ryan Watson.

Mrs. Patricia Ann Wilson Thomas

Mrs. Patricia Ann Wilson Thomas, a prominent figure in service organizations and social, cultural and philanthropic activities in Natchitoches and across North Louisiana for more than 50 years, died the morning of Saturday, March 21, 2020, after an extended illness.

Admired for her elegance and graceful demeanor, Mrs. Thomas was widely known for her artistic skills and talents. She was an accomplished seamstress, musician, decorator and culinary artist. The designer dresses she created over the years were often exhibited at gatherings of social organizations and other groups.

She had also been actively involved since 1967 in publishing enterprises with her husband and business partner, Lovan B. Thomas. They own The Natchitoches Times and other newspapers and publications throughout the state.

Holly Harrison

Holly Harrison, 46 years old, passed away Sunday, March 15th, after a lengthy illness. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her parents, Randy and Pam Rodgers; her grandmother, Julie Moses; her brother, David Bruce; her sisters, Dominique Rodgers and Ashley Rodgers; uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends from around the world.

Holly proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1993-2013. She taught Nuclear Biological and Chemical Warfare, raising the graduation rate from 35% to 67%.

Holly never met a stranger and could talk with anyone, whether they were 2 or 92. She possessed a servant’s heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Her family wishes to thank all the many family and friends who have reached out to us at this time. Also, we would like to thank the DPSO, DeSoto Parish EMS and Billy and Karen Locke.

Funeral services honoring the life of Rev. Doyle English, 81, were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Hunter Magnolia Baptist Church in Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be his children, Lisa Perkins, Rev. Dale English, and Dennis English. Assisting the service will be Bro. Amador Santos and Rev. Charles “Chucky” Clark. Interment followed at Cool Springs Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana. A visitation with the family will be held before time of service beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Doyle was born on October 29, 1938 in the Hunter Community to John and Goldie English. He entered into rest on March 18, 2020 in Mansfield, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Goldie English; sisters, Geraldine English and Margie Jordan; brother, Talmadge English.

Stonewall, LA - Marie “Annette” Watson of Stonewall, LA., passed away at home on March 21, 2020. There will be a graveside service on March 25, 2020 at The Minden Cemetery in Minden, LA. at 1:00 p.m.

Annette was born on August 5, 1938 in Minden, LA. to William and Elizabeth Martin Luck. She grew up in Minden where she graduated from Minden High School in 1956. After high school, she graduated from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA. where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She worked for the State of Louisiana Department of Children and Family services and retired in 1994. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles Lavell Watson of Minden in 1957.

Funeral services honoring the life of Sue Bailey Monsour were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, Louisiana with Bro. Dale English officiating. Assisting the service will be Bro. Tim Roberson. Interment will follow at O.E. Price Memorial Cemetery in Logansport. A visitation with the family were held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

Sue was born on February 27, 1950 in Trinity, Texas to Vasco and Mildred Mozelle Clay b r ook. She entered into rest on March 13, 2020 in Logansport,

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vasco and Mozelle Claybrook; first husband, Glenn Bailey; husband, Billy Monsour Sr.; son, Steven Bailey; brothers, Larry and Bobby Claybrook.
